Featured Workshop: Stefano De Luigi

Stefano De Luigi: The Expanded Image

Paris, France: October 17-19, 2014

We’re excited to feature the work of Stefano De Luigi, a renowned VII Agency photographer and the teacher of PWNY workshop: ‘The Expanded Image‘.  In this intensive three day workshop, Stefano will guide students in the evolving field of contemporary photographic practice and through the process of making sustainable projects. Stefano has developed multiple long-term bodies of work and has utilized the multimedia form to make pieces that are engaging on many different levels.

Stefano’s project Cinema Mundi was initially conceived photographically, but has expanded over time to include a 7-minute multi-media video, which has been screened internationally at film festivals. In an era of easily accessible professional DSLRs and freelance journalism, photographers are faced with the challenge of creating poly-vocal projects that speak to the many different audiences of reportage. Stefano will discuss this new photographic landscape and will share personal experiences of working independently on his essays.

Stefano is currently a member of VII Agency, an incredible collective of international photographers that span 35 years in the industry. This is one of the many ways that Stefano participates in and creates a strong artistic community, which he finds to be an essential aspect of having a successful career in photography.

We are honored to have such a strong voice in the field teaching with us and hope that students will take the opportunity to grow under his guidance.

Below are a selection of images from several different projects, including Cinema MundiT.I.A. and Blanco
